Aleeza and Colin live in Canada, and they organised their two day wedding from there. The first part was an amazing mendhi at the stunning One Marylebone in London. This was my first mendhi and I will never forget it, it was so colourful and vibrant – I can’t wait to photograph another!

Colin was walked in by his friends and family, with drummers ahead of him. He then remained seated, waiting for Aleeza to arrive, who was carried in on a colourful cart, surrounded by family and drummers. The women then sang songs while seated on cushions and everyone joined in clapping. Delicious food was served while mendhi was applied to the guests hands in stunning designs (including my own!). Then Aleeza’s brother and sister started the dancing, before the girls danced, then the boys. It was so great to see everyone getting involved. Then the rest of the guests took to the stage while the drummers played along with the music.

Marit and Hessam decided to elope to London for their wedding. They came over from Norway, met two of their friends here and got married in St Olav’s, the Norwegian Church and Seaman’s Mission in Rotherhithe. They got ready together in their room at the Athenaeum Hotel by Hyde Park in London. Marit wore a pretty dress from Monsoon with her hair braided and a little bouquet with roses and anemones, while Hessam wore a very dapper suit with a waistcoat and bow tie. The ceremony was in Norwegian but full of laughter and so much love. Afterwards we popped across the road to a very pretty, autumnal Southwark Park then drove around London, stopping off at all the sights along the way for some more photos, including the Thames with the Houses of Parliament in the background and Buckingham Palace.

I was so privileged to make up a fifth of their wedding party. There was no table plan, no favours, no real details, just a couple in love. Congratulations to you both!
