Sezincote Indian Wedding – Roshni & Simon
There is nothing more perfect than a Sezincote Indian wedding, I first visited way back in 2011 on an open day and I fell in love with it so it was a dream come true to photograph there. Roshni and Simon held their fusion wedding on a July day. Starting early in the day with their Indian wedding, followed by photos and then a quick dress change before their civil wedding ceremony. This post is for the Indian wedding part of their day – the civil wedding part please click here.
I love that part of my job is to photograph weddings of different people, different religions and different cultures. An Indian wedding is such a colourful day, the smell of fresh flowers everywhere from the garlands and petal throwing, the way that both families are so involved in the ceremony. I particularly enjoy fusion weddings – where the couple is made up of different backgrounds and religions. It creates a real mixture of traditions but what I enjoy the most is how welcoming everyone is of each other. Time is taken to explain the ceremony to those unfamiliar, and people are encouraged to join in – everyone enjoys the drums and dancing!
