I photograph Southwark Register Office Wedding a lot, they’re a little hidden gem, a cute cobbled courtyard at the front with a lamp post, perfect for photos, and a sweet garden at the back which is lovely for after the ceremony for family photos. The registrars are just lovely as well, always so full of smiles and so welcoming. I’ve photographed tiny elopements there, and larger weddings too, with couples going on to receptions at various local pubs or other reception venues. I love photographing there, especially as I used to live just up the road in East Dulwich so I know it really well.
Grace arrived in a white wedding taxi, in a stunning wedding dress decorated in tiny embroidered flowers. Their ceremony was full of laughter, they couldn’t take their eyes off each other. Afterwards we headed to the register office garden for their family photos and a few portraits, it’s always so lovely for that. They then exited outside the Georgian front through a shower of confetti. I love photographing the confetti exit, so much real joy to photograph. Their guests headed off to The Crooked Well pub in Camberwell while we stayed behind for a couple of photos under the lamp post before jumping in the white taxi to the pub. At the pub there were drinks and a pub lunch, no speeches, just everyone having a lovely relaxed time together. It was a perfect micro wedding.
*I only photograph elopements and 2-5 hour coverage at Southwark Register Office Monday-Thursday. Friday/Saturday/Sunday is 5+ hours coverage due to high demand for these dates*
