Asylum Wedding – Hayley & Dan
An intimate, autumnal Asylum wedding in October? Yes please! Asylum in Peckham, run by Maverick Projects, is a venue I have always wanted to photograph at. It is a slightly crumbling, shabby ruined chapel in a south London borough, lit with candles and generally hosts weddings for such cool, relaxed couples and Hayley and Dan were just that. I am photographing Hayley’s sisters wedding in May 2018 and she got in touch at the last minute for Hayley’s wedding. They’d organised it in only a few weeks and Hayley was 8 months pregnant (their baby was actually born early, a few weeks after this!). There were only around 30 people there for an intimate, emotional ceremony, followed by drinks in the chapel with a swing band playing. There were a few speeches, followed by a couple of games (guess your husbands face!) before all the guests headed off to a pub for lunch. It was truly lovely – the light in Asylum is gorgeous, dark but dreamy colours on the walls. It is a photographer’s dream, and having the best, relaxed clients makes it even more wonderful for me.
Congratulations to the two of you and welcome to the world little one!
