Belfast Town Hall and Merchant Hotel – Abigail & Ryan
Abigail & Ryan are incredibly talented textile designers, the nicest people you will ever meet and have the best style – you just have to look at the photos. When they asked me to photograph their wedding in Belfast in Northern Ireland I jumped at the chance to shoot a destination wedding. They got ready in the stunning Merchant Hotel, full of light. They were married in a lovely ceremony at Belfast City Hall, during which my very lovely husband walked their little dog Angus, dressed to the nines in a little kilt. The ceremony was followed by a routemaster red bus tour of Belfast, stopping off for some portraits at Belfast Botanic Gardens. Then we arrived for the wedding reception on the roof terrace at the Merchant Hotel which was decorated in colourful pom poms, a hand drawn A & R in an ornate frame, hand made botanical teatowels, and salted caramels made by them both as favours. They had a beautiful wedding cake adorned with little flowers in an ombre of blue. There were apple and blackberry cupcakes decorated with little flowers and a blackberry.
Abigail’s wedding dress was made by a friend of the family in vintage lace and tulle that she designed herself. Her amazing headdress was handmade in leather by William Chambers, a milliner from Glasgow, especially for Abigail.
Abigail and Ryan’s beautiful designs can be bought from their online store or are now available for Jo Malone at Selfridges! Their wedding is also featured this month with 8 pages in Mollie Makes Handmade Weddings special magazine.
What a beautiful wedding and stunning images! I adore the bride’s headdress and all the wonderful details they made. I’m off to visit their online store immediately! L x
The headress is amazing! The whole wedding is beautiful but I would love to stock the headpiece! x
Hi Emma, I’m afraid you would need to contact the milliner for this, it’s William Chambers. http://www.williamchambers.co.uk/ He designed this one specifically for Abigail!
