I have always wanted to photograph a Lancing College Chapel Wedding, and it didn’t disappoint, the chandeliers really do look like floating candles! It was stunning. Sophie is from the US but Matt attended Lancing College as a boy, so it was the perfect location for a romantic British wedding ceremony. The service was taken by Matt’s father which made it extra special for the couple. They had had to reschedule from 2020 so it was wonderful at the last minute that guests from the US could fly in.
The weather was terrible, some sunshine and then torrential rain the next minute, but everyone laughed through it and had a great time. The setting really blew everyone away. I was able to photograph from lots of different angles, and it was great to be able to get a close up of the bride and groom during those special moments. Afterwards, they left through a shower of confetti, before their guests headed onto the reception and we stayed behind for some portraits – sheltered from the rain in the stunning cloisters, and then beneath the trees with the chapel in the background.
It was perfect for a wedding and I really hope I get to photograph another Lancing College Chapel wedding soon as it’s just round the corner from me.
